Davide Groppi Moon Pendant Lamp in Natural Paper

A suspended moon that tells the light with the texture of paper

Moon was born from the intuition of Davide Groppi, a designer and manufacturer from Piacenza who has always explored the boundary between light and matter. The lamp is a spherical diffuser entirely hand-covered with sheets of natural paper, applied one on top of the other to create a rippled, veined surface, never identical to itself. The result is an object that does not literally replicate the moon but evokes its silent presence, suspended in space like a domestic satellite.

Each piece is created through a slow and entirely manual process: the paper is wetted, spread, brushed, and left to dry directly on the sphere, in a gesture that recalls Japanese paper art more than industrial production. This craftsmanship makes each Moon unique, with cracks and shading that vary from lamp to lamp. The integrated LED source shines through the paper and lights up its fibers, producing a soft, diffused light that adapts to entrances, dining rooms, living rooms, and spacious representative environments.

When lit, Moon fills the space with a warm and enveloping brightness, almost tangible, which changes intensity and pattern depending on the distance from which it is viewed. It is a light point that becomes sculpture, capable of becoming the gravitational center of a contemporary environment or of dialoguing with older and industrial architectures. Available in different sizes, to suit both a small table and a large volume.
